The Quickest Way to Win at Online Business

Before I started my entrepreneurial journey I was super unfulfilled.

I was:

🔹Drinking a lot

🔹Moving towards 0 goals

🔹Working a job I hated as a housekeeper at the hospital

It was quite sad actually.

I was coasting through life with no ambition or direction.

Now I'll save you the whole story of how I turned everything around (we don't have time for that today)

But what I will tell you is...

Fast forward to today, I've never been more aligned and excited about my future.

So what changed?

It's simple really...

I'm always building something.

Whether it's my business, my health, my relationships, my focus is to build and improve it.

This was the missing piece in my life a few years ago.

Here's the key reason why it changed my life (and will change yours too):

When you're always building something, new problems will come up as you build.

It's up to you to solve those problems with your creativity and action plan as they arise.

But.

When you're never building anything…

Your mind will be idle and come up with problems that don’t actually exist.

It has no choice but to. It has evolved to problem solve.

This is how you get into funks like the one I was in.

Instead of solving problems that help you build, your mind creates false narratives because it has to solve something.

You end up lost, confused, and never get ahead.

If you're wondering how this is applicable to online business stay with me.

If you were to assess where your business is at right now, would you say it's where you want it to be?

Most people I ask this question to reply with a dreadful "no".

Then I ask what they're building, and they say nothing.

No new lead magnet. No update to their LinkedIn profile or website. No new offer or writing habit.

Nothing.

I'm sure you can see where this is going.

Now I'll be honest here, some days it feels impossible to be in "build mode". We all have different things going on in our lives. And that's ok.

The goal here isn't to become a workaholic or burnout. As long as you have something specific in mind you are building towards, rest days are crucial.

So don't get caught up in worrying about time and resources before you even start.

To be more specific, here are a few examples of what you could be building for your business right now:

If you're not posting content consistently --> A writing habit

If you're not getting leads --> An outreach strategy

If you don't have a product/service --> An offer

Notice how whatever you build solves a problem?

Then what that will do is create a new problem once you've solved the old one.

Then you build something to solve that one.

An example:

You build a writing habit and start getting followers online.

The followers are cool and all, but you're not making any money or seeing any real return on all the time it takes to write content.

So... you build a lead magnet to start building an email list of warm leads.

The lead magnet takes you a couple weeks to fully dial in after asking your followers what they want.

But you don't actually have a newsletter built yet to nurture those leads. So now you have to name it, choose your colors, figure out how to write it, etc.

That's how the cycle works.

Isn't entrepreneurship a beautiful thing?

The whole reason I'm here almost 2 years later is because I stuck to building.

I owe 90% of my success to it.

It's helped me grow my business, build a strong network, and up my writing skills.

The cool thing is when you apply this concept to one area, it trickles into all other areas as well.

Better health <—> Better relationships <—>Better business

That’s it for this week!

I hope this inspires you to start building something ASAP.

Because that’s the quickest way to win at online business.

Always be building something.

And I know it's Friday (not Thursday) but I had to move the newsletter to today this week.

Next week it'll be back to the regular time.

Enjoy your weekend,

PS. If you’re creating content on LinkedIn but struggling to get leads for your offer, chances are there’s a problem with your lead funnel.

I’ve put together a short free video training to explain how the funnel works and how I’ve helped 10+ build theirs to start getting clients.
