The Perfect Niche Doesn't Exist
In August of 2022 I started my journey into copywriting.
The first course I took suggested I pick a niche.
I remember thinking it made sense...
How else would I know what to write about and who to help?
After the first week of brainstorming I had it narrowed down to 3.
I was excited about my progress but this is is where the real issues began.
I started to stress over choosing the "perfect" one.
My thoughts were:
"What if this one doesn't work?"
"How do I know if this is the right one?"
"What if there's more money in the other one?"
And so the vicious over thinking cycle began.
I want you to avoid this completely.
It lasted for months and even when I thought I had picked the right one, I doubted it after a week or two.
It led to so much unnecessary stress, doubt, and even more costly...wasted time.
Spoiler alert:
The perfect niche isn't real.
Nor is there the "right" one.
It evolves over time as you do.
This is a good thing.
It means you're learning, growing, & expanding your interests.
This week though, I want to show you how to avoid this "niche trap" completely:
3 quick & simple steps to stop overthinking your niche
Pick something you’re excited to write/learn about
Seriously.
You have to start here.
If you overlook this step you'll hate what you do and that's not the reason you became a creator is it?
Didn't think so.
Now I can't help you with this one.
It'll be unique to you, so dive into yourself here.
The best thing you can do is write out all your favorite things to talk about & study, then narrow it down to 1.
Find out if it's growing or shrinking
You want to avoid any niche that's shrinking.
This means there will be less demand & less potential clients.
I go over how to get started on this easily right here:
Find a burning problem in it
This is what your content, products, and services will solve.
*Pro tip - The more burning the problem is the more perceived market value you will have.
The best places for this will be:
🔹Chat GPT
🔹Facebook groups
Search by keywords in the niche you selected.
Easy isn't it?
From now on I want you to drill it into your mind that you're not married to your niche.
Stop stressing over picking the perfect one.
Instead ask yourself:
🔹Does it excite me?
🔹Is it growing in popularity?
🔹Can I find a burning problem in it?
If the answer is yes to all 3, get started.
Save yourself the time.
& remember:
Your niche will evolve over time as you do.

That’s it for this week.
Hope your new year has been great so far.
Until next Thursday,
Darion.
