It’s A Noisy World (How It Impacts Your Success, Peace, and Mind)

I used to mindlessly scroll social media like a madman.

It was a guilty pleasure of mine

Hours would disappear before I caught myself.

Then I'd try to play it off like it didn't matter, but it did.

I didn’t realize how much it harmed me at the time…

From ruining my focus because of all the short dopamine spikes.

To all the negativity I was letting in through my eyes and ears.

And not to mention the stress it caused me unknowingly.

I also used to hang around people who only took but never gave.

You know the type...

The ones who say they're your friends but only drain your:

🔹Mood

🔹Energy

🔹Money

They complain, ask for you to pay for everything, gossip.

I'd look past it because I try to see the best in everyone.

And I thought having more friends was a good thing.

Then I realized a lot of them weren't my real friends.

Another bad habit of mine was saying yes to every invitation.

I felt like it was rude to tell people no.

But I’d end up saying yes to the wrong things.

Things like:

🔹Going to the bar

🔹Watching violent, gory movies

🔹Eating at unhealthy restaurants

I didn't realize how bad this was until I started my writing business.

(It's funny how when you start to value your time more your life changes)

So, what do all these have in common?

They bring negative noise into your life.

Now of course you can't cut some of these out completely.

For example, if you have a family member who only takes.

You’ll still see them at family events.

Or if social media is your career.

There’s no way to stop unless you switch careers.

Or if your best friend wants to go out for their birthday.

(Good luck saying no to that one)

But what can you do is limit your time exposed to these environments.

And any time you see or hear something negative…

Walk away.

The key point here is if you want a more peaceful life,

You have to guard your inputs.

At all costs.

This is arguably the best thing you can do for your overall well-being.

It'll improve:

🔹Your ability to focus

🔹Your attitude/optimism

🔹The quality of your thoughts

Which are all required to reach your ideal life (whatever it looks like for you)

So how do you block out all the negative noise?

Start by avoiding:

🔹Complainers

🔹Toxic media (like the news)

🔹Mindlessly scrolling social media

And start replacing them with positive inputs like:

🔹Walks in nature

🔹Alone time meditating

🔹Books on topics you're interested in

🔹Conversations with positive, driven, likeminded people

🔹Writing your goals, dream life, and personal creed by hand and reading it daily

Pull a switcheroo.

You'll be amazed at how fast your life improves.

But not only that…

You’ll finally be able to find some peace.
