3 Easy Ways To Get People Addicted To Your LinkedIn Content

The LinkedIn creators who are killing it (the ones who make the LinkedIn world stop when they post)

All have one thing in common…

They have legitimate fans.

Not followers. Raving FANS.

Creating a loyal tribe is like playing the online business game on easy mode.

The way you create raving fans like this, when creating content online, is by writing ‘addicting’ content.

What I mean by addicting is:

  1. Once they read it, they want to consume more from you

  2. People can’t wait to read your next post

  3. They tell other people about it

Nail all 3 and congrats… you’ve created a true fan.

Here’s the caveat though, it goes one step deeper.

What good are a bunch of fans that will never buy from you or go for your offer?

I mean, we’re all doing this online business thing to make money right?

…Right?

So what’s the caveat?

The content needs to be targeted as well.

By targeted I mean:

  1. To a specific ICP

  2. In a specific market

  3. With specific problems, pains, fears, and desires

(ICP = Ideal Customer Profile)

Essentially, an archetype of a person who wants and needs your offer.

Getting good at writing addictive content is a crucial win-win skill. It makes your reader get a hit of dopamine and feel good. It’s good for you because you’ll generate more recurring traffic and engagement. And if that content is targeted to the right person???

I mean…I’m sure you can imagine how good that would be for sales…

The best part of all this?

Figuring out how is like a game.

You’ll make mistakes, try things that don’t work, unlock a new level, then eventually beat it.

After I figured this out myself, content creation became way more exciting and less like a stressful chore. It hits different when you know people genuinely look forward to your content and on top of that you generate more leads.

(I’m not saying I’m on the level of some of the huge LinkedIn influencers with adoring fans… but for my account size and profitable business I like to think I’m doing pretty good)

Besides… there’s nothing worse than having an audience of over 100,000 people and not being able to monetize it. —But that’s a different newsletter subject all together.

Now let’s get to the good stuff so you can apply it.

I’m going to show you 3 easy ways to get people addicted to your content (while keeping it targeted)

#1: Use the DCT Storytelling Framework

About 10 months ago I learned a bunch of storytelling framework from my good friend Parker Worth and some books he recommended me.

I experimented with them all…but I noticed these were the only components needed for an addicting story on social media:

Desire —>Start the story with you at a low point, then talk about where you desired to be.

Conflict —>Then talk about what obstacle, person, or thing was holding you back from getting to your desired place.

Transformation —> Finish with how you overcame it, the lesson learned, and where you are at now.

The concept is straight forward: Without desire there’s no emotion, without conflict there’s no struggle, and without a transformation there’s no story.

Use these framework next LinkedIn post and see for yourself…

The key to making it targeted:

Make sure the transformation and/or struggle in the story is relatable and relevant to your ICP. That’s it. All you want to do is show them you’ve been where they were and solved it for yourself.

No need to overcomplicate it any more than this.

#2: Be Polarizing

Don’t do it for the sake of doing it. Or just to be an as*hole…

But state your opinion on things.

What this does is attract people with similar perspectives (who will be easier to work with) and also stop your content from being generic cookie cutter stuff you see all over LinkedIn.

What it also does is repel the people who don’t agree. Which is great.

You see addicting content doesn’t mean it’s for everyone…it’s actually quite the opposite.

Just how some people love chocolate ice cream and some hate it…

The worst thing you can be is vanilla.

People pleasing and wanting everyone to like you is a no-go when it comes to marketing in general.

So be you. Share your thoughts, perspectives, and opinions.

It forces people to choose a side. And when they choose yours…you’ve already won.

#3: Listen To Your Audience

I know this seems so obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t.

All you need to do is:

🔹Look for questions in your comments

🔹Note struggles people bring up in DMs

🔹Observe what content performs well for other creators in your niche

Then make content around them…

It’s really this simple.

We all think we know what’s best. We want to write what we want to write.

But the ones who are crushing it? They write what their audience wants to consume.

That’s it for this week!

Take this stuff and implement it into your strategy immediately.

It will change the game for you.

How do I know?

Because it did for me.

Until next time,

Your friend up north,

Darion.
